Petrified Forest
Natural Protected area declared Provincial Natural Monument, located in the center of the southern province of Chubut, 30 kilometers from Sarmiento and 150 km from Comodoro Rivadavia to the west.

With an area of 1880 hectares, preserving the intriguing landscape and petrified logs more than 65 million years old. It is an atmosphere of continental and marine sedimentation, formed by a sandy soil, clay, volcanic ash and Patagonian rocks.
The place has a microclimate with extensive heat; the summers are hot and dry, while the winters are cold and wet. By a pedestrian interpretive trail of 2000 meters, you are welcome to tour the largest outcrop of petrified logs area and observe the landscape of Moon Valley, Variegated and Colorado Peaks.
